Dresden Elementary Walk-a-Thon

Friday, May 18th was a beautiful day and there were smiles all around as we participated in our annual Walk-a-thon!  Students listened to great music while collecting jelly bracelets after each lap around the school!  We are proud to announce that students and sponsors raised $5,321!

The staff and students also enjoyed the sucker pull, slap bracelet exchange, a special lunch with teachers, and throwing pies in teachers’ faces at our walk-a-thon celebration! Our top earner became Principal for the Day and our 2 runner-ups became teacher assistants!

Next year Dresden will enter its 4th years as a Leader in Me school. We look forward to more summer professional development, parent education nights, and Symposium visits.  There are additional costs to the program each year, which the proceeds from the Walk-a-thon will help us alleviate.  A portion of the money raised will also be given to teachers to purchase items for the classrooms.

This could not be possible without Dresden’s wonderful and supportive community.  Thank you for your support!

 Sincerely,

Dresden Staff and Students
